To help you find the right French lessons for your child, EFNY classes fall into two categories:
For bilingual children who already speak and understand French comfortably and can follow a French-only class.
Focus: reading, writing, grammar, oral expression, and thematic/cultural subjects taught entirely in French.
For children who are new to French or still building foundational language skills.
Focus: speaking, listening comprehension, vocabulary building, and confidence through interactive, playful learning.
This class is for bilingual children who are fluent in French, already reading in English, and beginning to read and write in French. All activities take place in full French immersion. Students strengthen early reading and writing foundations while developing essential grammar concepts. The class also focuses on building strong vocabulary and clear verbal expression, helping students gain confidence as they move toward more advanced written French.
Designed for students who are fully fluent in French, this class emphasizes both oral and written mastery. Conducted entirely in French, it introduces longer and more complex texts while reinforcing grammar, spelling, conjugation, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. Students learn to write short, varied texts—including fiction, descriptions, dialogues, and portraits—and are encouraged to read independently to deepen fluency and strengthen their connection to the French language.
This class focuses on practical verbal communication. Students learn simple structures through stories, creative projects, songs, and games to build confidence and comprehension.
