Parents searching for French classes in New York will find that this West Village program offers a uniquely creative, fully immersive French-language environment.

Choosing the Right French Class

To help you find the right French lessons for your child, EFNY classes fall into two categories:

French for Native / Fluent Speakers

For bilingual children who already speak and understand French comfortably and can follow a French-only class.
Focus: reading, writing, grammar, oral expression, and thematic/cultural subjects taught entirely in French.

French as a Second Language (FSL)

For children who are new to French or still building foundational language skills.
Focus: speaking, listening comprehension, vocabulary building, and confidence through interactive, playful learning.

Classes Offered

All classes take place on the second floor of La Petite École, in a beautiful room redesigned to provide an ideal setting for artistic exploration. Each program is conducted entirely in French and offers a creative, immersive environment that supports both language development and artistic expression.

French for Native / Fluent Speakers

This class is not yet confirmed. Families interested in this program are invited to email efnylpe@gmail.com.

In this fully French-immersion visual arts class, students paint, draw, collage, and ultimately curate their own end-of-year exhibition. Inspired by the creative universe of Hervé Tullet, the course encourages children to “create in French” through a long-term project that stimulates imagination and the five senses. The curriculum supports cognitive development and nurtures soft skills such as emotional intelligence, metacognition, and proactive behavior—helping students strengthen both their creativity and their French language abilities.

EFNY also offers online French classes. If you are interested in this option, please contact efnyinscription@gmail.com.
